The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

This is my 100th post! Wahahah

Finally completed the spraying and assembling the parts of my bike ALL BY MYSELF.
Took me like 4days? The finishing isnt as good as the one you'd get if u had it done at the shop.
But I'll make do with it.

Cheap paint=cheap quality=cheap ride. =P

Just finished soccer. Time now 3.57am. What can I say.
Football shatters my knee. Swimming is a form of rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, watching the ah peks at the void deck playing chess stirred up the desire in me to play.

Who's game for one?

Busy.. After midnight.

Had the not-so-impressive claypot rice with the secondary school frens at geylang. =(
Went for Lan before waiting til 2.45am for the champion league final .
The highly anticipated Man U vs Barca game.

Not much commentary to be done here, all in all,
Barca outplayed and outclassed Man U in a game which Messi shone.
Personally, I think Man of the match should go to Puyol. =D

I've been staying out these past few days and more coming soon!
First MJ at pearly's til morning, then Champ league til 6, gonna have a gaming session with the edi on thurs, Midnight soccer on friday, pri school gathering til morning on saturday(I doubt I'm attending).

I dont really like going out til morning!

In a mood to blog..=D

Yes, It's still the same day and I'm in the mood to blog. =D I just discovered that my good fren Yew Choon is back in Singapore from his pilot course in Canada before I went for work. I'm meeting him for dinner tomorrow to do some catching up. And hopefully get him to intro me some Canadian chicks =P

Nah, I'm just kidding. Yew Choon was and still is my competitive badminton sparring partner. We always have fun playing against each other. We also talk alot about our inner self. I know we all have many friends but in a way, I know I'm slightly different(according to bff) cos I have alot different cliques of friends like secondary school, badminton, edi, odac, and people from walks of life. It's not only restricted to people of my own age.

Furthermore, we're not only acquaintance. I'm actually quite close to some of them in the group. I feel that I'm not only in a network of friends. But in a powerful network of opportunities and resources which I know will only get better as age and experience come along. It allows me to gain insights and knowledge which I wouldnt have come in contact with. Unlike most people who is not interested to know things they're not familiar with. I'd prefer to learn more and force myself out of my comfort zone. No, I'm not a social butterfly which many of us think. I would prefer to say I...'m interested in people.

My father told me I'm not strong enough when I told him people who told me otherwise. I know he was trying to peg me back so my head wouldnt get as big as hot air balloon. To prevent me from floating off the ground and continue walking on the ground. He of course has his case for saying I'm not strong enough. Afterall, He used to train at the old Kallang National stadium with all the National bodybuilders. But I guess I'm as strong mentally and physically as I THINK cos I can think perfectly well. But I know I'm not as strong as I APPEAR to be.

Probably due to animal instinct. A dog barks to appear ferocious. A porcupine is full of thorns to protect himself from predators. Horns make animals look threatening. Coconuts are high above to be out of reach. And I'm not surprised if durians are the way they are so that people will not consume them. We are all nature's work.

Ps:Wanping has finally finished her exams! She appears to be hopeful of her MA today. Hoorays!

Can boys and girls be best friend?

Do you really think I was about to blog that? Pfft. Bimbotic.

I went to work after mahjong from 530pm to 10pm for catering at Wisma. I shouldnt name that shop but I guess Hansel saw me cos he text me about it. The function was quite high class as we had to serve the guests in the shop. Had to keep asking if they want this and that.

It really humbled me and put me to a level of social standing which I feel really really minor in front of them. Guests who showed up were dressed appropriately and you could see from the way they socialised, that they are not just atas. They were the atas of the atas. In a shop where a tie is selling at $300+, a polo shirt costs $439, it's not surprising. The way they wave you off, or ask you to come over, MAKES you feel like you're a servant.

With a champagne glass in her hand and fruit tartlet in the other. She laughed and joked in a conversation with someone whom she haven met for awhile. The photographer were clicking away, taking pictures of the glamorous ladies who were well in their forties yet dont act/look like their age. Looking at the ladyboss of the shop, people were introducing new friends to her, forming new business networks. Smiles and namecards were exchanged, shopping were done by wives for the husbands.

I wonder when will I be able to climb to their level of social standings.
Or will I ever ?

Who's the zeng?

Yes, that was the question Pearly kept asking throughout our mahjong session at her house. Ervin (our standby trooper) and the Joreen were the other 2 participants. I would say that Pearly has a nice and cosy house. Energetic family members, relatively young parents with noisy pets!
Minghui! She also stay in exec flat on 2nd floor like you! same layout somemore! =D

Won quite abit of money on mahjong and we went for Mcdonald's breakfast cos we had nowhere else to go. ARGH! I should've drove! We played til almost 8am when Joreen almost collapsed =P

Before I left, Pearly passed me a gift for my birthday which just passed. So thoughtful right! It's a book as what I anticipated. But a thoughful one with a nice note. I think I'll like it.

No, wait.

I know I'll love it. =)

The independence quiz

Many of my frens are turning 21. Or, have already past 21. As such, the issue of independence have kicked in. Did you know that in some countries, parents kick their children out of the house once they reached 21. Such patterns are usually common in mammals. We have to leave the pack when we reached certain age. Humans are like animals. We have to leave the pack to be independent.

When I turned 21(which was yesterday). My father spoke to me.

"What are you gonna do about your life?" he asked in a solemn manner.

"We dont have many 21s in our lives you know. you've reached your first 21. When another 21 passed, you'd be 42. What do you wish to have achieve by the time you turned 42?"

Woah... That was some serious conversation.

I had this plan that when I turned 21, I want to leave the house, rent a place at my fren's place, provide for myself and buy a saving insurance. But all this wasnt realised due to the high school fees i'm incurring now. But I still try to work and school at the same time. I save whatever I can, work whenever I can.

Few of my frens have been telling me about their independence. Eg, I got this guy fren who always spend money which I dono came from where. Tho he always say he used his own money, I always knew his 'own money' refered to his allowance his father gave him.

Let's talk about the most basic of this. Few questions to ask yourself here.

Do you iron your own clothes?
Do you handwash whatever that needs to be handwashed yourself?
Do you do your own dishes?
Do you clean your own room?

If yes to all above,
Are you financially independent?

Most of the time, many thinks that being financial independent = independent, which is of cos not true according to what we see above. Financially independent is probably the second level of independence.

If you're spending what you earn, yet you still need others to clean your room, pack your clothes for you, do your dishes. Are you really that independent?

On the other hand, if you are taking money from your parents. But you're contributing to the household by doing the chores, cleaning the house, dishes and laundry. Your parents will be able to work without worrying about the house. I'm sure they are more than happy to give u the money u need. Afterall, a mature child spends more wisely than the immature one.

Of course it's better if you can achieve both. Doing your own chores, and working for your own keep. Financially independent. I know friends who are taking care of their family, chore-wise and financial-wise, and I'm proud of them. *salute*

Meanwhile, if you are still acting like a baby in your house, still needing people to take care of your everyday needs.

TIME TO GROW UP!! =D

"This guy has a good working attitude..."

That was what people at work said about me. Woo Hoo! Then why did the teachers and army officer say there was something wrong about my attitude? Beats me.

"A genius can never be understood by people when he's still alive."

The work has finally ended and it was really interesting. We get to earn money and eat some catered food at the same time. What more can u ask for?! I've always wanted to work as a banquet waiter at hotel. Due to their high pay of $8~$12 compared to those $3.50 hourly pay at Delifrance, ~$3 Mcdonald's. And yes, I once worked for $3.50 per hour at Delifrance, 8-12 hours a day, 5-6 days a week.

Talking about work, some people at work are damn terrible. It's hard to work with them sometimes. I shall not talk behind their back. Shirleen was worried that I couldnt cope with the work and staff. but me, being the flexible me, I couldnt have much to complain..
That's work for me. =)

Work work work..

There are 2 girls I'm working with. They're quite... immature. yet in a way cute enough that u wont wanna hate them. Oh wells. They'll grow up someday..

One thing I forgot to mention the other day. When I went into this room to collect the food I've left there, this man asked me, " you got plastic bag or not?" before the rest laughed at him.

I replied, " Why don't you put them in yr pockets first?"

Lastly, quite a few of my friends finished exams liao. OTIA last paper. Including Bff, Cecilia..

Waking up at 6plus everyday...

I'm waking up 6plus everyday cos I'm working for a catering company for this week. I shall skip the details cos it's a typical waiter job. Believe it or not, waking up so early in the morning actually makes me feel kinda fresh!

The supervisor is annoying to a certain extent. He place himself high and mighty, ordering us around. He does not realise that we're the main force working in the company. He's definitely dragging the company's progress. Enough said, dowanna bitch too much about people

The first day of work was quite tiring. Due to previous day's soccer and swimming. Which made me fell asleep at 9plus. Shiok.. Oh ya, Shirleen who introduced me the job smsed to check how was I doing. I know...So sweet right!!

The second day was much better, now that I know what's going on
Publish Post
, what's supposed to be done and when to do what and what's not supposed to be done. Got to know a few more people working at the event. Basically sweet ladies.. =D

Ok,more stuff to do, got to go for now! More updates soon!

I see myself working there again.. =)

Ps: My mom made dumplings (Zong zi) today.2 flavours chicken and pork. =D

The feast continues..

I just cant emphasize enough how well my mother can cook. Hainanese chicken rice, with self made chilli, Chilli crab, lamb chop, crayfish, and cooking without oil using this special pan. We had crayfish and this nice pork ribs for today's dinner after my swim.

So the 无忧无虑 (for now) days continued with breakfast prepared the moment I woke up. I'm happy whenever there's food in the morning. Went on to THROW AWAY all my notes after eating, did abit of packing of my room, wardrobe and othere stuff, like fixing my high fi. Which is finally working now YAYS!

Went for a swim just now. I really enjoy swimming, I reckon. May not be as pro as Ian thorpe, Phelps But it's something I really enjoy doing! Considering whether to join the Swim team in SIM. I think I'm still joining Frisbee. Eh BFF!! Still on or not?! Join together!

Totally enjoying the moment now (As long asI don think about the mistakes I made in exams), doing my stuff, cycling around the neighbourhood, walking at a real slow pace, time for family, friends and myself..

Got this job assignment which I secured while I was having exams. Catering at NUS for the next whole week including saturday! The thing is we need to wear formal.

DAMN SIAN!!!!

*while typing this post, I received a call from Tommy to play soccer at 9pm. How much more happening can this get?! Next up is to watch Angels and Demons, supposed to watch with nick, but that gay wanted to wait for his gay buddy to come back from Australia before we can watch it together.

BFF, We've never watch movie together before! Wait for you ar!!

My 18th birthday!!

YAY! Finally 18 already! =P So the day began with my mom cooking abalone noodles as usual(with real abalones of course!) And we had breakfast together as a family on a saturday morning!
I feel really blessed that my mother is such a great cook. =D

I slept in after replying tons of birthday wishes on facebook. Thanks everyone!! Pearly told me that with every wishes, my luck will improve blah blah blah. Thanks everyone again! Minghui shall be excused since she was busy studying in the library =). The family then went on for High tea buffet at Lingzhi tung lok. It's a vegetarian buffet. =D It was really a good time to have a vegetarian buffet since I was going to attend BBQ with my secondary school friends in the evening. Shall name them here, Joon kiat, Nicholas, Benjamin,Perry, Yiheng, Lingxian, Peixuan, Gek ching and Ebonne. ( pai ming bu fen xian hou) Oh ya, Met up with Mun kit the day before and introduced her to Nicholas. We were supposed to go on a trip to Beijing, China and inner Mongoliao, But since influenza A found its first case in china, the trip was cancelled and money refunded. Man, I was so looking forward to that trip!!!

BBQ was fun, since we haven done it for a long time ( or is it only me?). I loved the fish fillet! We spent some time together EATING since we cant really pry into everyone's lives. I remember asking gek ching the other time how was her life in school.

" Like that lor.."

"Got anyone chasing you in school not?" I asked

"Why you so KPO ar? "

So we realised we wouldnt head anywhere. And so we gave up.
The guys went on to watch a goal less Man U- Arsenal Match which Man U went on to lift the EPL trophy. Took some silly pictures and photos in Xuan's room. And we talked about having cake. Well, I really don have the habit of celebrating it with so many people. The last few times with cake, probably was me and my ex girlfriend?

The night continued with us travelling to Ebonne's place for mahjong session. Havent played for so long! I dono how i managed to lose more when I wasnt the'fang pao' person for most of the time. Oh well, money needs to exchange hands to be valuable and meaningful =) It was close to 5am when i reached home. I then went on to sleep in on til Sunday afternoon next day. It's been so NONG since i woke up in the afternoon!

Overall, It was one pleasant, fulfiling day well spent with family and friends. I enjoyed myself and I hope we all did =D Probably one of my best birthday celebrations!

PS: If you have some meaningless paper in your wallet, pass them to me to make them meaningful and useful =D

FINALLY!!

It has ended. As quickly as when it first came, it has now left. With so much time to spare, it's time to grieve about the papers now. I didnt end as strong as I tot I would. The run in was good tho.
The stupidest thing I've done so far happened today. I cancelled a 5 mark question which I had the correct answer. Just because the answer wasnt logical to me. Pffftt..

JIA LI HAI! GEH KIANG!

I left the examination hall after every paper, knowing I could've done better. All right, gonna nap. Shall grumble more later.

Lastly, I'm back. =)
