An Army post

Attended DJ workshop today. While we were having our lunch outside the LT, cheeboon and Junyu popped by, declaring their ambitions to clear IPPT today. (I wonder how they fared) That was when derrick questioned Cheeboon as an officer. And Cheeboon pointed his finger at Ziquan in an attempt to shift our attention. I seriously gotta admit Ziquan TOTALLY doesnt look/act/behave like an officer at all.
I don exactly have an issue with the officers, as a specialist. For those of you who dono, specialists and officers normally have this wall between them which clearly distinguishes them apart. Specialists and Officers. Probably out of 'soreness', that the specialists couldnt be officers and officers who are 'underworked' and 'overpaid'. In the older days, specialists and officers could hardly work together, especially when the specialists are more experienced and proficient in their work than the young, fresh commisioned officer.
Apparently nowadays, officers and specialists are working cohesively and happily together, probably due to their common objective and perspective in that they're here to serve and then F off. They started not taking pride in their appointments. As such, we see the Specialists not acting like specialists, and officers not behaving like officers. ( Shall only talk about specialists below =))

Wilson told me how his bunk mate commented him when he cleared the unglam hair from the urinals in the toilet. Not out of fun, but cos he was the toilet IC. His committee/group refused to clean the toilet properly.

'Wilson, Ni Bu Shi Ren. how can you handle something so dirty??' thats what his group of toilet cleaning people told him.

WTH, Soldiers cannot clean the toilet properly. How pampered can Singaporeans get nowadays? Some of them cant even sweep the floor properly!

There's an old joke in the army that the enemies would die not cos of gunshot wounds, but of laughing. Singaporeans would act so clumsy in the jungle cos they're afraid of dirt, mud and mosquitoes bites. Thats how spoilt armyboys are nowadays .

Come on boys, you cant possibly hire bangalahs to clean your shit, your maid to do the area cleaning right? How about hiring foreigners to fight our war?

Sadly, despite how the army is evolving and how techonology has improved in the army, the people handling the technology produced( the weapons) are degenerating. It makes one wonder if it was due to over emphasizing on academic aspects in Singapore that we only know how to study for tests and exams, and dono how to do anything else.
